What is The Group Executive?

The Group Executive Committee

The Group Executive Committee exists to support the Group Scout Leader in meeting the responsibilities of their appointment. The Committee is responsible for the maintenance of the Group’s property the raising of funds and the administration of the Group’s finance, the insurance of persons, property and equipment;

Ex-officio Members
· The Group Chairman;
· The Group Secretary;
· The Group Treasurer;
· The Group Scout Leader;
· The Assistant Group Scout Leader;
· All Section Leaders;

The Executive Committee is made up of a number of ex officio members (those who are part of the committee because of the role they hold), members nominated by the Group Scout Leader, members co-opted onto the Committee and members elected by the Council. The Group Council consists of all adults involved in the Group, including parents of the young people.

The committee is made up of many different types of people. A balance of experienced Scouters and others not involved in Scouting is recommended. All members should are welcomed to contribute to meetings and discussions, and their views valued. Members of the Executive Committee may have networks and contacts that could be used to the benefit of the Group. For example they may know of organisations that would be willing to sponsor activities, or donate money or goods to the Group.

When do we meet?
First Tuesday of the month 20.00 till 21.00
